Overview
In the vanguard of the nouveau-Indian restaurant movement that brought glitz and sophistication to the cooking of the subcontinent since it opened in 2004, Amaya remains a Belgravia hotspot. From sleek cocktail bar to seductive dining room, there’s a buzzy mood and glossy good looks in its leather seating, vivid artworks, sparkly lighting and terracotta statues. Driven by the tandoor, sigri charcoal grill and tawa griddle, the on-trend grazing menu features different-sized sharing dishes; green chutney chicken chops are done to perfection in the tandoor, precisely timed, deliciously moist and tender, while spicy Malabar prawn curry fizzles with authentic Keralan curry leaf and coconut flavours. Expect spot-on service, a classy wine list, plus inventive cocktails.
