"Uncomplicated techniques and intuitive combinations."
Overview
Wild Honey St James is the wonderful high-ceilinged dining room at the glossy Sofitel London St James, where pale grey velvet banquettes, huge arched windows, designer lights and lovely parquet floors bring plenty of elegant style. Anthony Demetre’s precise and honest, seasonal cooking takes centre stage, opening the show with a superb Isle of Orkney hand-dived scallop pointed up with white vermouth and XO sauce and sea herbs. Up next, grilled French Aubrac veal is matched with white asparagus, artichoke ‘farci’, grilled loquat and delicious roasting juice. Finish with a masterclass custard tart, a simple, perfect trio of sublime pastry, creamy custard and grated nutmeg.
