Overview
Just off Oxford Street, contemporary-Japanese food lovers hot foot it to the Mayfair branch of London’s Roka group. There’s always a buzz here, whether it’s shoppers doing lunch, or the moneyed cocktail set after dusk. The central robata grill is the ultra-cool interior’s focus, where counter seats offer ringside views of the chefs, adding to the high-energy vibe. The grazing menu (including a seasonal tasting option) offers Roka robata favourites exploding with umami flavours; crunchy black tiger prawn tempura with spicy yuzu sauce then sea bass fillet with the citrus zing of yuzu shiso marinade and ginger seaweed salad.
