Overview
Just off bustling Kensington High Street, Kitchen W8 is just the sort of suave neighbourhood restaurant we’d all like in our neck of the woods. Understated, discreet and tasteful with hand-painted birds on the walls and crisp white tablecloths, the decor combines with intelligent service to seal the warm, intimate mood, while a confident kitchen displays an impressive grasp of technique and a sensitive approach to the flavours it draws from top-drawer materials. Intense venison ragù works a treat with buckwheat farfalle, smoked beetroot and rye, while sautéed chicken thighs come with Pink Fir potato, celeriac, radicchio and red wine jus. To finish, there’s a Madagascan vanilla custard millefeuille with Yorkshire rhubarb and almond.
