"Refined Franco-Italian country cooking in the heart of Covent Garden."
Overview
A delightfully intimate place, immediately welcoming and a relief from the bustle of Covent Garden, Clos Maggiore is influenced by the country inns of both Provence and Tuscany. The dining rooms, set across two floors, are charming, the skylight and ceiling decorated with twining, flower-starred branches to resemble an Italianate courtyard. An array of seasonally changing menus provide a contemporary take on modern European cuisine, and the wine list is stunning. An elegant seared Cornish cod opener, teamed with green olive and fennel and a chorizo sauce, to sea bass served with crisp Anna potatoes, persillade of trumpet mushrooms and a red wine reduction to follow demonstrates the skills on show in the kitchen.
