The Black Swan at Oldstead
"Exciting modern food in a relaxed village setting."
Overview
A 16th-century, former village pub in a bucolic spot on the fringes of the North York Moors National Park, The Black Swan has been run by Tommy Banks and his family for two decades. Inside, all the boxes are ticked for a charming country inn: large stone fireplaces, beams, exposed brickwork, flagstone floors and church candles. In contrast, the first-floor dining room is unfussy and minimalist, with plain, wooden tables and neatly dressed staff. The food is all about seasonality and respect for the excellent quality, hyper-local produce, including foraged materials and bounty from the family farm.
