"Refined modern cooking in rebooted village pub."
Overview
A whitewashed 19th-century inn, The Cross at Kenilworth combines original pub character via beams and exposed brickwork with contemporary oak tables and a stylish look in the dining room. Underpinned by classic European inspiration, the kitchen delivers plenty of modern refinement, opening with heritage beetroot salad, whipped Windrush Valley goats’ cheese, beetroot and hibiscus purée, and raspberry vinaigrette. Next up, try pan-fried breast of Creedy Carver duck, peas and lettuce, fried Pink Fir potatoes and thyme jus. Round things off with a vibrant and well-balanced dessert of Yorkshire rhubarb compôte, white chocolate cream, gingerbread, rhubarb sorbet and crystallised ginger.

About the area
The sparkle of sunlight on a gentle river as it meanders through beautiful countryside; the reflections of sailing boats on a lake; relaxing with a pint in the garden of an old English pub in a picturesque village; brightly coloured narrow boats making their way through a flight of lock gates; the imposing silhouette of an historic castle. These are the scenes that make Warwickshire a delight
