Longstone Cottage
"Over rolling countryside towards Bamburgh, views of Holy Island and the Farne Islands"
Overview
Longstone Cottage takes its name from the famous Longstone Lighthouse on one of the Farne Islands, situated in the hamlet of Detchant, between the historic towns of Alnwick and Berwick upon Tweed. The cottage which dates back to the 1800s, has been renovated to a high standard and provides well equipped and extremely comfortable accommodation with attractive gardens to both the front and rear of the property. Guests can enjoy spectacular views over the rolling countryside towards Bamburgh and the coast, with views of Holy Island and the Farne Islands. This is an excellent base for walking, cycling, bird watching, golf, riding, water sports and visits to historic castles and houses. Alternatively, explore the many sandy beaches and fishing villages along the Northumberland Heritage coastline.

About the area
If it’s history you’re after, there’s heaps of it in Northumberland. On Hadrian’s Wall you can imagine scarlet-cloaked Roman legionaries keeping watch for painted Pictish warriors while cursing the English weather and dreaming of home
