Hopping Hare Cottage

Assessed by Visit England Logo
Overview
Hopping Hare Cottage sleeps up to 4 adults and 1 baby in 3 bedrooms with 1 bathroom. The traditional, dainty kitchen is chocolate-box pretty and leads into the lounge, where you can find ample seating and a cosy wood-burning stove. A ‘hare’ theme runs throughout the cottage which mirrors the wildlife in the fields beyond. Opposite the cottage, in the separate garage building you will find a heated utility room with workspace, a washing machine, a tumble dryer and radiators. This room is perfect for drying wet clothes as it’s fully heated and allows laundry to be kept out of the cottage, as well as being a good space to dry off wet dogs. There is also room for bike storage here too. As well as the patio straight from the kitchen door, there is also a lawned garden approx. 100 yards from the property. As the cottages are a row of traditional farmers’ cottages, these gardens were originally used for vegetable patches but have now been transformed into lawned private spaces for relaxing.

About the area
If it’s history you’re after, there’s heaps of it in Northumberland. On Hadrian’s Wall you can imagine scarlet-cloaked Roman legionaries keeping watch for painted Pictish warriors while cursing the English weather and dreaming of home
