Geevor Tin Mine
Overview
A preserved tin mine and museum provide an insight into the methods and equipment used in the industry that was once so important in the area. The Geevor Tin Mine only actually stopped operation in 1990. Guided tours let visitors see the tin treatment plant, and a video illustrates the techniques employed. A museum of hard rock mining has recently opened, and the underground tour is well worth the trip.
