Overview
Arlington Court was built in 1823 and is situated in the thickly wooded Yeo Valley. The centrepiece is the Victorian mansion, surrounded by formal and informal gardens. Also open to visitors is the stable yard, housing a collection of carriages and horse-drawn vehicles. Currently on loan from the Houses of Parliament is the Speaker’s State Coach, a glorious, gilded carriage with over 300 years of history. The extensive parkland around the house is grazed by Jacob sheep and Red Devon cattle, and there is a formal Victorian garden with a conservatory that was rebuilt in 2012, planted with exotic species and walled garden providing produce for the tea room and flowers for the house.
