Blackbury Camp
Overview
Blackbury Camp is the remains of an Iron Age hillfort with impressive ramparts, now surrounded by woodland. The original camp would have had wooden gates and a timber gate-tower. The site was excavated in the 1950s, and finds included the remains of a hut, a cooking pit, an oven, pottery, and over 1,000 slingstones.
