Recommended by Visit England Logo
Overview
As a working farm, the National Trust’s work at Copt Hall balances arable crop production and access with coastal nature conservation. The work ranges from creating nectar-rich field margins for insects and adders to the maintenance of wet grassland for waders and wildfowl. This is also a very important breeding area for birds; attracting arable species such as lapwings, and scarcer ones like barn and short-eared owls, kestrels and marsh harriers.
Location
Copt Hall Lane, LITTLE WIGBOROUGH, CO5 7RD
About the area
Essex is full of pleasant surprises. It has the largest coastline of any county in England, with its fair share of castles, royal connections and scenic valleys.
