Overview
There are excellent birdwatching sites here, and visitors get a chance to see winter waterbirds, waders, nightingales, grebe, hobbies and more, as well as the chance to meet other locals – otters, water voles, dragonflies, fritillaries, orchids, birds, bats and even beavers. If you’d rather be active, the park gives you a choice of many activities, from angling to archery, cycling, climbing, sailing, snorkelling, walking and wakeboarding.
Location
SOUTH CERNEY, GL7 5TL
About the area
Gloucestershire is home to a variety of landscapes, including the Cotswolds, a region of gentle hills, valleys and gem-like villages that roll through the county. To their west is the Severn Plain, watered by Britain’s longest river and characterised by orchards and farms marked out by hedgerows that blaze with mayflower in the spring; beyond the Severn are the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley.
