The Weir Gardens
Overview
A unique riverside garden created in the 1920s. This peaceful 10-acre garden offers dramatic views of the Wye Valley and Herefordshire countryside beyond. In spring, drifts of early flowering bulbs are followed by a succession of summer wildflowers, managed to create a varied habitat for a wide range of wildlife. Autumn gives a final flourish of colour and the River Wye provides a moving backdrop to this tranquil garden. Bring a picnic and spend a day by the river.

About the area
Herefordshire is split in two by the River Wye which meanders through the county on its way to the Severn and the sea. Largely rural, with Hereford, Leominster, and Ross-on-Wye the major towns and cities, its countryside and ancient villages are the county’s major asset.
