Overview
Designed by John Nash and completed in 1825, the Royal Mews houses the State Coaches, horse-drawn carriages and motor cars used for Coronations, State Visits, Royal Weddings and the State Opening of Parliament. These include the Gold State Coach made in 1762, with panels painted by the Florentine artist Cipriani. As one of the finest working stables in existence, the Royal Mews provides a unique opportunity for you to see a working department of the Royal Household.
