This is a great little museum, stuffed with curiosities and items that tell the history of the town and the geology of the North Yorkshire coastline. Find out about Whitby’s whaling background, as well as fabulous marine fossils, fascinating items relating to Captain James Cook and his worldwide travels, exquisite flint tools left by our Stone Age forebears on the moors, and lively paintings of sailing ships through the ages.
