Dapdune Wharf
Overview
The visitor centre at Dapdune Wharf, a surprising haven in the heart of Surrey, is the centrepiece of one of the National Trust's most unusual properties, the River Way Navigations. Relax on a boat trip, learn how to tie a sailor's knot or take a scenic walk. A series of interactive exhibits and displays allow you to discover the fascinating story of this secret waterway, one of the first British rivers to be made navigable. See where huge Wey barges were built and climb aboard Reliance, one of the last surviving barges. Children's trails and special events run throughout the season, with opportunities for the children to dress up, build dens or just explore.

About the area
Surrey is one of England’s most wooded counties, with over a quarter of the landscape designated as an official AONB and plenty of history evident in the countryside. You’ll find sandy tracks, cottage gardens and welcoming village inns, and on the fringe of Greater London you can picnic in Chaldon’s hay meadows, explore the downs at Epsom, or drift idly beside the River Thames.
