Cotswold Playhouse
Overview
The Cotswold Players were founded in 1911, but didn't get their own performance venue until 1951, when they bought an old Methodist Hall. It was converted into a true theatre a few years later, and has been much extended and reworked over the years. In 2007/8 a major renovation was undertaken which also added a dance studio and a stage workshop. The Cotswold Playhouse has a small capacity (150 seats) and tends to only stage productions by the Cotswold Players or other small, touring theatre groups.
About the area
The sparkle of sunlight on a gentle river as it meanders through beautiful countryside; the reflections of sailing boats on a lake; relaxing with a pint in the garden of an old English pub in a picturesque village; brightly coloured narrow boats making their way through a flight of lock gates; the imposing silhouette of an historic castle. These are the scenes that make Warwickshire a delight.
