Linn Botanic Gardens

Recommended by Visit England Logo
Overview
Opened in 1971, Linn Botanic Gardens is an unusual garden experience. Run by botanist Jim Taggart, it is both eclectic and eccentric. Around 4,000 plant species, some of which are endangered, from every country in the world, thrive side-by-side in this micro-climate, warmed by the Gulf Stream. Although it is open to the public, it is likely that you may not see anyone there, apart from other visitors.
Location
The Linn, COVE, Helensburgh, G84 0NR
About the area
This is a county that’s all about awe-inspiring landscapes and unique island cultures. Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney put the area on the map when he wrote Mull of Kintyre, recorded in 1977 with the local pipe band backing his group.
