Overview
The Country Park covers over 200 acres, and boasts beautiful woodland walks, an adventure playground, urban farm, visitor centre, tearoom, shop and a fantastic 14th-century castle that houses world class collections including historic weapons and armour. Visitors can explore the park using scenic paths and trails, and with over 80 hectares of countryside within a very urban area, the park is a great way to escape for a while. The urban farm has kune kune pigs, a fallow deer herd, a family of llamas, highland cattle and a pair of loveable donkeys. The Countryside Ranger Service will answer any natural history questions you may have. There is an extensive and varied events programme throughout the year. See the website for details.
