Overview
The magnificent ruin of a great Royal Palace, set in its own park or 'peel'. All the Stuart kings lived here, and work commissioned by James I, III, IV, and VI can be seen. The great hall and the chapel are particularly fine. James V was born here in 1512 and Mary, Queen of Scots in 1542.
