"Sprawling forest with a network of trails"
Overview
Covering 4,900 acres, Hamsterley is the largest forest in County Durham. A combination of picturesque and peaceful woodlands running along a stunning sheltered valley makes it a draw for wildlife observers and walkers. There are also trails for cyclists, mountain bikers and horse riders. For families, there are play areas for the kids and a café.
