"On the edge of the National Park, inviting public areas and comfy rooms"
Overview
This Victorian roadside inn is family run and offers a welcoming atmosphere. Its name comes from the Lutwidge family of Holmrook Hall, whose lineage included Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll. The bar and restaurant offer a wide range of meals during the evening. Bedrooms are smart and comfortable, and the Orangery has transformed the garden and dining areas. It's very well located for exploring the Lake District National Park, Scafell Pike, the lovely narrow gauge Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and much, much more besides.

About the area
Cumbria's rugged yet beautiful landscape is best known for the Lake District National Park that sits within its boundaries. It’s famous for Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, and Derwent Water, ‘Queen of the English Lakes', but other lesser-known areas in the south, such as the Lune Valley and the coastal towns, are secret gems of wide cobbled streets and rolling hills.
