"Luxurious bedrooms in a charming converted railway station."
Overview
The Old Station is a former railway station, built in 1847, and set in the heart of the Shropshire countryside just four miles from Shrewsbury. The railway theme runs throughout the bedrooms which come in a range of shapes and sizes. Stained-glass windows are a feature throughout the house. Breakfast is served in the well-furnished dining room – some tables are located on what was previously the station platform – and there is a large patio area with tables, chairs and umbrellas. Evening meals may be booked by prior arrangement. The garden is adjacent to the village cricket field, which is ideal for dog walkers. A small lounge is also provided and there is ample parking. A bus route from Shrewsbury to Oswestry also passes the drive.

About the area
Perhaps nowhere else in England will you find a county so deeply rural and with so much variety as Shropshire. Choose a clear day, climb to the top of The Wrekin, and look down on that ‘land of lost content’ so wistfully evoked by A E Housman.
