"Breathtaking lakes and mountain views matched by superb facilities."
Overview
Castlerigg Hall is situated in the heart of the Lake District with truly breathtaking views across Derwentwater to Catbells and other well-known Lakeland fells. This really is a superb location for anyone interested in exploring the area on foot, bike or by vehicle. As well as superb toilet blocks and pitches, there is a well-stocked shop and an excellent indoor campers’ kitchen. In addition, there are pods and caravans for hire. Castlerigg is notable for the outstanding quality across all aspects of the operation, particularly a passionate focus on sustainability, from stocking more local produce and reducing plastic use in the shop, to the planting of wildflower meadows and changing to downlighting around the park.

About the area
Cumbria's rugged yet beautiful landscape is best known for the Lake District National Park that sits within its boundaries. It’s famous for Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, and Derwent Water, ‘Queen of the English Lakes', but other lesser-known areas in the south, such as the Lune Valley and the coastal towns, are secret gems of wide cobbled streets and rolling hills.
