Overview
Solway View is a site where you can enjoy the great outdoors and there are walks around the farm, adjoining woodland and local area. Grass and/or a hardstanding pitches are offered, and some have the bonus of a sea view. All the pitches are spacious and have a picnic bench and fire pit; electric hook-up (EHU) pitches are also available. There are three main areas – hardstanding pitches at the top of the site, a year-round camping field and a summer camping field; there are a few hardstanding pitches in these two camping fields suitable for smaller caravans or campervans that can be pitched beside tents. Pets are welcome and as Solway View is on a working farm, all dogs must be always kept under strict control, but there is a dog exercise area where they can be let off the lead.

Dumfries and Galloway is a wonderfully undiscovered corner of Scotland – a romantic land of wooded glens, high hills and exposed moorland, haunted by its colourful past and the ghosts of those who fell in fierce and bloody battles. Heading west from Gretna Green you soon reach Dumfries, straddling the River Nith, where you may see red-breasted mergansers in summer.
