Overlooking Scarness Bay on the lake’s eastern shore, Bassenthwaite Lakeside Lodges offer classic Lake District National Park views in peaceful surroundings. Subject to strict conditions, you may be able to sail your own non-motorized boat – should you have one, that is – on the lake. The park is a haven for wildlife, including otters and red squirrels.
