Overview

First World War German prisoners being marched past The Eagle, as it then was, would salute their national bird, so villagers who'd fought in Belgium decided to rename it. After a pint of Brakspear the seasonal menu might tempt you with Windsor Park game pie; Brixham cod with black garlic paste; or roast butternut squash Kerala curry. The beer garden stretches from the secluded patio to the village duck pond. First Friday of the month for live music.
