Clovelly Court Gardens
Overview
Warmed by the Gulf Stream in this sheltered corner of Devon, Clovelly Court is a classic walled Victorian kitchen garden with old lean-to greenhouses and 12ft-high walls. Soft fruits, citrus fruits, a vine and a fig tree, exotic vegetables and tomatoes grow here and you can buy them, along with cut flowers and pot plants, from the nursery. From the famous cobbled village of Clovelly a beautiful woodland walk leads you to the gardens which normally flower a month ahead of the season because they are so well protected from the winds and harsh weather. Fruit-bearing trees include apple and pear, quince, medlar, soft fruit, two mulberry trees and Chinese gooseberry.
