Overview
Within a delightful Victorian mansion hotel surrounded by 92 acres of rolling Sussex countryside, The Camellia Restaurant at South Lodge is an elegant setting. Bucolic views of the South Downs and the lovely garden are mirrored by motif wallpaper depicting red and pink camellias. The confident cooking achieves accurate execution throughout and a meal might begin with Dorset crab beignet, brown crab custard, smoked cheese crisp, apple, finger lime and dill before perfectly timed BBQ monkfish, coco bean and Morteau sausage cassoulet, three-cornered leek and brown butter hollandaise. Round things off with blackberry bar, apple compôte and cinnamon shortbread.
