Walk directions

From the parking area take the track across Roundway Hill for 1.25 miles (2km), heading north towards masts on the horizon. Along this stretch the track’s surface is good and firm underfoot. Swing slightly left to pass the Civil War battle site.

At a crossing of tracks, turn left along a track, following the Mid-Wilts Way. Pass a barn on the left and then in 0.5 miles (800m), at Hill Cottage, fork left. Where the track swings left, keep straight on along a narrow, rutted and often muddy track. Gently ascend and, near the summit, turn sharp left on the Mid-Wilts Way, keeping straight ahead between two fields, with excellent views unfolding to your right.
