Overview
Middlethorpe Hall is a fine house, dating from the reign of William and Mary, that sits in acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, just two miles from York city centre. Built in 1699, it was once the home of the diarist Lady Mary Wortley Montagu. The bedrooms vary in size but all are comfortably furnished; some are located in the main house, while others are in a cottage and converted courtyard stables. Public areas include a spa and a stately drawing room where afternoon tea is quite an event. The delightful panelled restaurant is a perfect setting for enjoying the imaginative cuisine.
