Amongst the ruins of the city wall and old monastery, aptly named Blackfriars Restaurant dates from the 13th century and has plenty of original features. Thick stone walls and stained glass windows remain with wooden floors and low ceilings. There's an impressive wine list to accompany skilful British cooking.
