"A fine collection of animals and birds set among the Lincolnshire Wolds."
Overview
Wolds Wildlife Park is in the market town of Horncastle, and is home to a fascinating variety of animals, including lions, brown bears, capybaras and ring-tailed lemurs. Among the creatures that need to be seen are the marmosets and macaques, as well as the sulcata tortoise, the third-largest tortoise in the world. And to think, the whole thing started in 2013 with just one zebra.

About the area
Much of the fenland around the Wash has been drained of its marshes and reclaimed as highly productive farmland. Further north, the coastline, with its sandy beaches, has been developed to accommodate the holiday industry, with caravans, campsites and the usual seaside paraphernalia.
