Overview
Did highwayman Dick Turpin rest here en route to the gallows in York? Possibly. More certain is that in 1835 a young Queen Victoria stayed here when visiting that city. If you're dining, starters might include home-made chicken liver parfait; tempura cauliflower florets with curried mayonnaise; and prawn cocktail. Moving on to mains you may find seasonal fish and seafood pie; spiced Yorkshire lamb rump; and seared salmon fillet. Finish with a slate of Lancashire, Yorkshire and European cheeses.
