Directly opposite Winchester’s Cathedral and City Museum, this elegant Grade II listed pub was built on Saxon foundations in the 18th century. There are four guest beers in the oak-beamed bar, where you can eat sandwiches, salads and light bites. A typical meal could include cottage pie or pan-fried calves’ liver with Madeira and onion gravy. At the back of the pub you'll find a flower-filled patio.
