Overview
The only surviving part of Winchester Castle, once home to the Domesday Book, this 13th-century hall was the centre of court and government life. Built between 1222-1235, during the reign of Henry III, it is one of the largest and finest five bay halls in England to have survived to the present day. The Round Table based on the Arthurian Legend and built in the late 13th century hangs in the hall. Queen Eleanor's Garden is a re-creation of a late 13th-century ornamental garden.
