The Tasting Room
"Wine-lovers' paradise with food to match."
Overview
In a peaceful rural location but still easy to reach from the M4, The Vineyard is a wine-lover’s haven, with an impressive 30,000-bottle wine cellar, including wines from the award-winning estate of owner Sir Peter Michael. Comfortable lounges lead into the stylish restaurant, and thence to The Tasting Room, a smaller space with just 28 covers. Richly decorated in tones of chocolate, bronze and gold, you can expect a ‘sensory journey’ as you explore the seasonal multi-course tasting menu. This is modern British cooking with some Californian influences, and wine is as much a part of the experience as the food.

About the area
Berkshire consists of two distinct parts: the western half, which is predominantly rural, with the Lambourn Downs spilling down to the River Lambourn and the Berkshire Downs to the majestic Thames, and the eastern half of Berkshire, which offers plenty of opportunity to get out and savour open spaces. Reading and Newbury are the county’s major towns, and the River Kennet flows through them both
