The Vineyard
"Notable wines and an elegant setting."
Overview
Just an hour from London, The Vineyard is a rather special place. In the split-level dining area, light floods in through the skylight and huge floor-to-ceiling windows. It makes for a grand setting for equally impressive dining and, as the name suggests, they’re serious about wine here, with more than 100 by the glass and perfect pairings for each dish. Prime seasonal ingredients are allowed to speak for themselves in classic and straightforward dishes.

About the area
Berkshire consists of two distinct parts: the western half, which is predominantly rural, with the Lambourn Downs spilling down to the River Lambourn and the Berkshire Downs to the majestic Thames, and the eastern half of Berkshire, which offers plenty of opportunity to get out and savour open spaces. Reading and Newbury are the county’s major towns, and the River Kennet flows through them both
