Chartwell is the fine-dining option at Aldwark Manor Estate, a sumptuous hotel set in the heart of Yorkshire, surrounded by 200 acres of countryside and an 18-hole golf course. Large, floor-to-roof windows offer far-reaching views, while gold chandeliers and leopard-print wallpaper add an elegance to the dining room where global influences see top-notch Yorkshire ingredients transformed into finely tuned modern dishes. The terse wording on the menu will be explained by the ever-attentive staff, never fear. So, snacks of crispy duck, plum hoisin and cucumber, and sea bream, wasabi and shiso could lead on to barbecued scallop, cauliflower, bisque and Granny Smith.
