The Channel Islands Military Museum

Overview

The museum is housed in a German coastal defence bunker, which formed part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall. It has been restored, as far as possible, to give the visitor an idea of how it originally looked. The visitor can also see German uniforms, weapons, documents, photographs, other items from the 1940-45 occupation as well as a large collection of civilian items from the time, many of which have not been on display before. As time goes on the importance of the work and collection that the museum has acquired is becoming more appreciated. The museum has the largest collection of German occupation items on display on the island and varies its display each year.
