Overview
'Camino' is Italian for 'way' and generally refers to a pilgrimage, in this case guiding the pilgrim from the Cathedral of St Andrew in Rochester to the Shrine of St Augustine in Ramsgate, taking in many places of religious and historical significance. St Augustine of Canterbury was a 6th-century monk who was a founder of the Church of England and the first Archbishop of Canterbury. Guided tours are available on parts of the route, or you can buy a guide from the creators of the 'camino'.

Visitors can explore historic parklands, including Knole Park and Sir Winston Churchill’s former home at Chartwell, or beautiful nature reserves, such as the coppiced woodlands of Denge Wood and Earley Wood and the ancient fine chalk woodland of Yockletts Bank.
