The London Canal Museum
Overview
The museum covers the development of London's canals (particularly Regent's Canal), canal vessels and trade, and the way of life of the canal people. Housed in a former ice warehouse and stables, it also illustrates horse transport and the unusual trade of importing ice from Norway; there are two large ice wells under the floor. Facilities include temporary moorings, so you can arrive by boat if you want to. There are regular special exhibitions, and special events include evening illustrated talks, activity days for children and tunnel boat trips.
