Lynn Museum
Overview
Following a £1.2 million redevelopment, this charming museum tells the story of west Norfolk, and is home to Seahenge, the astonishing Bronze Age timber circle. A whole gallery is devoted to these unique 4,000-year-old timbers, and includes a life-sized replica of the circle, which was discovered off the coast of Hunstanton in the late 1990s. Original timbers are also displayed. The main gallery narrates the history of the area from the Iron Age to the 20th century. The museum also features the Iron Age gold coin hoard from Sedgeford, a display of pilgrims’ badges and the beautiful 19th-century fairground gallopers made by Savages of Lynn.

About the area
The North Norfolk Coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and probably the finest of its kind in Europe. Here you’ll find a string of quaint villages and small towns – Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cley next the Sea are 21st-century favourites, while Sheringham and Cromer are classic examples of a good old-fashioned seaside resort where grand Victorian hotels look out to sea.
