Chard Museum and Heritage Centre celebrates Chard's varied history including displays on John Stringfellow, pioneer of powered flight, James Gillingham, inventor of moulded leather artificial limbs and Margaret Bondfield, the UK's first woman cabinet minister. Other buildings on the museum site contain many examples of Dening agricultural machinery, distributed all over the world.
