Overview
The House is dedicated to Erasmus Darwin, the grandfather of Charles Darwin, and a talented doctor, inventor, philosopher, poet and founder member of the Lunar Society. He was a resident of Lichfield for more than 20 years, and the displays are contained within his beautiful 18th-century home. They recreate the story of Erasmus' life, ideas and inventions, through period rooms, audio visual and interactive displays.
