Discover Falmouth's best restaurants
Renowned for its beautiful harbour, Cornwall’s most populous town is fast becoming a key destination on Cornwall’s map of culinary hotspots.
We’ve selected eight of our favourite Falmouth restaurants to visit on your next trip, all of which have been awarded at least one AA Rosette award for culinary excellence.
Brasserie on the Bay
Passionate about using Cornish grown, reared and hooked produce, this relaxed Brasserie specialises in ethically sourced big flavours that are low in food miles. Enjoy a delicious meal while looking out over the subtropical gardens to the sparkling sea beyond.
Overlooking Castle Beach, the Falmouth Hotel’s Castle Beach Restaurant offers an enticing mix of international dishes combined with classic British favourites. The traditional Sunday lunch is popular with locals and visitors alike, as is the Cornish Cream Tea.
Built in 1913 for a local brewing family, Merchant Manor’s pleasingly historic ambience provides the perfect venue for stylish celebrations. The restaurant, Rastella, is Falmouth’s highest rated, where guests can feast on modern dishes that are inspired by nature and packed with precision.
Meudon Hotel, Mawnan Smith
Hidden in a valley amongst stunning subtropical gardens, the Meudon Hotel’s food story captures the essence of the hotel’s heritage and location using ingredients from Cornwall’s natural larder. Choose between à la carte and small plate menus, as well as freshly made patisserie.
Standing in its six acres of wooded gardens since 1872, this beautiful stone-built manor house combines white-linened gentility with a modern brasserie style. Soak up the candle-lit calm over an evening meal, or unwind on the decking with an afternoon treat.
The Greenbank Hotel
Experience relaxed fine dining with superb panoramic estuary views at the Greenbank’s Water’s Edge restaurant. The team’s ethos is to ‘bring local produce to life, with imagination and creativity’ – guests can enjoy daily changing chef recommendations, paired with a carefully selected wine list.
The Pendennis Restaurant
The Royal Duchy Hotel’s light and airy Pendennis Restaurant truly makes the most of its glorious setting overlooking Falmouth Bay. Its innovative menu is inspired by traditional British cuisine with a contemporary twist, using only the finest local ingredients.
Trelawne Hotel offers diners a welcome and friendly atmosphere, serving seasonal and locally sourced produce cooked by award-winning chef David Waplington. The daily changing menu successfully captures elements of Trelawne’s wonderful coastal and rural location.
