Oliver Cromwell's HouseQuality Assessed
"Excellent visitor welcome and service standards received from staff – a real strength."
Overview
Visit Oliver Cromwell's House and experience what domestic life would have been like in the 17th century in a variety of re-created period rooms as well an exhibition detailing the Civil War. Cromwell inherited this fine timber-framed house and local estates from a maternal uncle and moved here in 1636, along with his mother, sisters, wife and 8 children. Visit Mrs Cromwell’s kitchen, try dressing-up or playing with the toys of the time or venture into the Haunted Bedroom if you dare. Audio tours bring the story of this impressive house to life. Guided tours and group visits are very welcome. Various special events are held during the year.
