Wild Boar Estate★★★★★
"Spacious rooms and immaculate grounds in the Lake District National Park."
Overview
Wild Boar Estate is a traditional Lakeland Inn, ideally situated between Kendal and Windermere in the rolling countryside of the Gilpin Valley. The estate has 72 acres of private woodland with a great variety of activities and wonderful walks to enjoy. Relax in the welcoming lounge and cosy bar where an extensive choice of beers and wines, including real ales brewed on-site in the 'Brewhouse Microbrewery', can be enjoyed. The Grill & Smokehouse restaurant features quality local and seasonal ingredients on its menu, some of which are smoked on-site. A great choice of rooms, some with copper baths or quirky features, combining comfort with the charm expected of a characterful country inn.

About the area
Cumbria's rugged yet beautiful landscape is best known for the Lake District National Park that sits within its boundaries. It’s famous for Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, and Derwent Water, ‘Queen of the English Lakes', but other lesser-known areas in the south, such as the Lune Valley and the coastal towns, are secret gems of wide cobbled streets and rolling hills.
